IA Deliverables: Wireframes

Wireframes

Wireframes begin the process of defining the User Interface by illustrating navigation and content elements at the page level. They are created for each unique page on the site and serve as templates for all subsidiary pages.

By bringing together the site organization, content labeling, and navigation into one view, wireframes help the development team - as well as the client - understand the information architecture.

In-Page Functionality

Call-outs on the page and a convention to indicate variables help the programmer identify the state of any rollover actions, the targets of specific links, and dynamic content. The graphic designer also uses wireframes as his or her guide for creating the visual design and page layout.
